Annie Kelly is a decorator, magazine writer, author and magazine editor.
With her husband, photographer Tim Street-Porter, she is based in the Hollywood Hills, and outside New York, in Litchfield, Connecticut.
Born in Australia, Kelly first trained as an artist. In 1993 she began in Los Angeles as a decorator, beginning with the renovation of Frank Lloyd Wright's La Miniatura in Pasadena. Her design work has also been featured in numerous books, and Kelly is currently working on several decorating projects in New York and Los Angeles.
She is the author of seven design books, Casa Mexicana Style (2006), Rooms to Inspire ( 2007). Casa San Miguel, Inspirational Mexican Interiors (2008,) Rooms to Inspire-Country, (2009), then Rooms to Inspire in the City (2010,) Litchfield Country Style (2011 Her new book Rooms to Inspire by the Sea (Rizzoli) was published in April 2012. All were photographed by Tim Street-Porter.
Apart from her books, Kelly writes about design and decoration for national magazines both in the USA and in other countries. These include World of Interiors, Russian, French and German Architectural Digest, German Elle Décor, English House & Garden, Belle magazine in Australia, Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, and Interiors (USA.).
